Lens-Artists Challenge #418 – Memories: Redux

Memories of Cobourg

One is a moment captured in time,
Bright with the summer, vivid and prime.
The other’s a dream on a yellowed old page,
Whisking the shore to a textbook of age.
A click of the shutter, a sketch from the mind—
Two different ways to leave worries behind.

As you all know by now, I’m far too verbose for my own good. To keep my original post from turning into a 2,000-word dissertation, I left out the original photos and the stories behind them. But since posting, a couple of my friends have reached out, asking to see them, so….

The Wooden Trellis Archway

The Beach Pavilion & Lifeguard Stand

The Kiteboarder on the Shoreline

Nighttime Reflections on the Water

Thank you all so much for indulging me. It has been a lovely exercise to look at the vibrant reality of these captured moments right alongside their quiet, storybook counterparts. Cobourg’s shoreline holds a very special place in my heart, and sharing both sides of these memories with you today has made it all the more meaningful. Until the next adventure, keep finding the magic in your own favorite memories!

’Til next time, y’all…
