Canada Anemone is such a cheerful native perennial. Its bright, five-petaled white blooms with golden centres are at their peak right now, thriving in moist thickets, meadows, and along the edges of dense woodlands. You’ll see them with nearly every step you take along the trails here in southern Ontario.

Fancifully, “Meadow Anemone” and “Windflower”.
Forest Grace
Beneath a sea of summer’s green,
A sudden flash of white is seen.
Where hidden roots run deep and free,
Awakes the lovely Windflower’s spree.
With petals bright as sparkling snow,
They dance when cooling breezes blow.
A secret patch of forest grace,
That brings a smile with every pace.
‘Til next time, y’all…
