Summer Daze
Summer is the flutter of a painted wing,
Where sleepy pollinators and beetles sing.
A rustle in the stalks of emerald corn,
As raindrops reflect the light of early morn.
Summer is feathered, marine and furry folk,
Within and beneath the shade of ancient oak.
Where petals proudly unfurl in vibrant hues,
And painted boats go cruising Lake Erie’s blues.
Summer for me is the privilege, excitement, and pure joy of marsh mucking, woodland wandering, and rural rambling. This is how I love to spend my Summer Daze:

Here in Essex County we have the pleasure, commercial and Coast Guard varieties.
We have lots of Coast Guard vehicles in our area.
Hike Metal Products (HMP) in the Port Of Wheatley is refitting ten, self-righting, Search and Rescue (SAR) vessels for the Director General, Fleet and Maritime Services (FMS), Canadian Coast Guard.
I’ve come to enjoy seeing the work in progress at Hike and then all the testing on the water.
