Terri Webster Schrandt recently launched The Flower Hour photo challenge on October 7, 2025, after it was discovered that Cee Neuner closed her blog permanently.
Cee Neuner was the originator of Flower of the Day (FOTD) photo challenge and posted the challenge all 7 days of the week.
After our beloved friend and amazing photographer passed away from a long illness in March 2025, bloggers have missed being able to link their flower posts with blog photo challenges dedicated to the love of flowers.
Terri chose Tuesday as her day of the week to host The Flower Hour. On Fridays, there is another link up called Floral Fridays where flower lovers can also link!
So…….
Welcome to Wildflower Wednesdays — my first (of what I hope will be many) weekly prompts to share our wildflower pictures with each other. Nothing would please me more than if you’ll please join in.
For all Wildflower Wednesday posts, please share your images of flowers, fields of flowers, seasonal leaves and berries. There are no specific themes, but please use your own photography.†
I picked my first oxeye at the age of two in the field beside our home and the simple daisy has been my firm-favourite ever since. That first blossom is pressed and dried in Mum’s bible. It and the many posies I plucked in that field were my introduction to the beauty of wildflowers. Ever since, I’m always amazed by the beautiful “gardens” Mother Nature is able to nurture along the sides of roads, in ditches, in woods and fields and even, sometimes, in almost no soil at all.

†All thanks and love to Terri for encouraging me to give this prompt a whirl. With her permission, I’ve co-opted her words from “The Flower Hour” to shape this prompt as well.
